Steampunk: Close-up by cayra Steampunk: Close-up by cayra
A close-up of the facial acessoires for my Steampunk costume.

I used mastix to glue the gears onto my skin, the balance springs are hooked into cornrows I had braided into my hair.
I'm wearing gold-metallic contact lenses.

Getting them glued on was a hassle.
Thanks!

I think whole costume is pretty awesome, but those Gears on your face screw it up a little, I dont remember steampunks have such, they ussualy have some "silly" gadgets like scopes on eye and stuff.

Not at all! The costume is meant to be an artificial/mechanical human (see description of the other pictures), so gears coming out of the skin fits the concept.
Also, there are no rules to making a steampunk costume. Why should I restrict myself to stuff other people have done already?

The only problem with that is that the rest of the outfit doesn't look very "artificial human" like. It looks like a standard steampunk costume with gears glued to your face. You could do much more to make it look like an artificial human. I agree, it looks kind of silly.

You should try again! Maybe start small? My costume took lots of planning and experimenting.
